Guru Studio Appoints Veteran Laura Dundas As VP Production
Toronto, CA (September 24, 2024) – Guru Studio, a leader in family and kids’ entertainment, is pleased to announce today it has hired Laura Dundas as VP Production.
Laura Dundas joins Guru Studio after serving as Head of Production, Animation, North America at ReDefine (part of the DNEG Group), where she produced two highly anticipated SpongeBob movies for Nickelodeon including Saving Bikini Bottom which premiered as the #1 movie on Netflix. Prior to her role at ReDefine, Laura was a Producer at Spin Master, contributing to hit titles such as Paw Patrol: The Movie, Mighty Express, Toca Boca Life Stories, and Rusty Rivets 3. Before Spin Master, Laura also served as Producer at Brown Bag Films on three seasons of Nature Cat.
An Emmy-nominated producer, Laura brings over twenty years of animation production leadership to Guru spanning both 2D and 3D animation in Canada, the US, Europe and Asia with a successful track record managing multiple international co-productions. Based in Toronto, Laura will be responsible for overseeing Guru’s productions, as well fostering relationships with the studio’s growing number of production partners and new clients.

Guru Studio is the animation powerhouse behind some of the most recognizable and beloved children’s properties in the world including the global smash hit PAW Patrol, the Sesame Street animated spin-off Mecha Builders and its own Netflix original series, True and the Rainbow Kingdom. The studio is currently in production on new seasons of PAW Patrol, new content for Mecha Builders and most recently the studio wrapped production on My Magic Pet Morphle for Moonbug Entertainment, and the family mini-series adaptation of the beloved classic Charlotte’s Web for Warner Bros Discovery’s Max. The company also recently announced it has acquired the TV rights to Penguin Random House’s best-selling and hugely popular book Where’s Spot? and more than 25 other Spot titles.
Laura will be joining the Guru Studio team at the Ottawa International Animation Film Festival this week, and at MIPJunior/MIPCOM next month.
